Discover the ancient art of marbling and the joy of bookmaking with marbling artist Rachel O’Connell of ROCWORX®.

Introduction to Marbling and Simple Bookmaking workshop. You will be guided through the process of marbling patterns on papers and creating beautiful handcrafted books using the patterned papers. A perfect activity for adults looking to explore their creativity and learn a new skill in this educational and informative workshop.

During the morning you will learn the techniques used to create unique and beautiful marbled heritage patterns on paper, while experiencing the therapeutic benefits of this meditative process. In the afternoon, you will be taught how to create a folded, concertina style book and a stitched Japanese bound book.  Both books contain inner quality cartridge paper, suitable for your artwork, poetry and collaging.

During this fun workshop, you will be required to stand over the marbling bath for some of the morning.  If you have a disability, please let us know, so we may set up the workshop to accommodate your needs.

All materials, an apron and gloves are provided.  Rachel suggests wearing old shoes in case paint splashes.
